Damia December Promoted to Director of Operations

Congratulations to Damia December on her promotion to One Spirit’s Director of Operations!

Since she joined the staff in 2022, Damia has been a force of nature bringing significant contributions to all aspects of the organization. Damia’s systems thinking and project management skills combined with her training in psychology and anthropology have been invaluable. 

Formerly the Manager of Support Services, Damia adopted many aspects of One Spirit’s daily workflow, including overseeing student registrations, developing One Spirit's learning management platform, collaborating with workshop presenters for optimal use of One Spirit’s technical platforms, offering student assistance, integrating certificate programs with Operations, and producing special events such as year-end intensives, graduation, and conferences.

While her new role comprises her former responsibilities, it formalizes the organizational and leadership capacities that Damia has exercised already and empowers her to coordinate staff and volunteer teams in service to the operational aspects of One Spirit’s Vision and Mission. 

Before One Spirit, Damia's experience spanned for-profit and non-profit organizations, notably Veterans Rebuilding Life, a grassroots organization focused on assisting the victims of war and humanitarian crises. Damia holds a BA with honors in Psychology and Anthropology from the University of Michigan, is a Registered Behavior Therapist, an ICRT Usui - Karuna - Holy Fire Reiki Master Teacher, and a life-long learner. Her knowledge enhances not only operations but also our community and educational offerings.
