Walking the Tao

Date: Thursday, May 12, 2022, 7:00 - 8:00 pm ET
Available by: Join by Videoconference Only (learn more about videoconference)
Suggested Love Offering: $ 10.00

Facilitated by: Rev. Dr. Sushmita Mukherjee with 1st-Year Seminary students Dr. Phillipa Leonard, Saibhung K Khalsa, and Stacy Greene.

Come join us this evening when we sit together and contemplate the Tao. We will honor the ineffable one, and the mother of the ten thousand things. We will weave patterns of light and darkness, and allow ourselves to imagine how our lives might be transformed by practicing doing-without-doing.

Facilitators:

Rev. Dr. Sushmita Mukherjee is an ordained interspiritual minister, spiritual counselor and a Dean at the Seminary Program at One Spirit. Trained as a biophysicist and cell biologist in India and in the United States, she works as an Associate Professor of Research at Weill Cornell Medical College, New York City. Her scientific work focuses on high-resolution microscopy and image analysis, and their applications in cutting-edge biomedical research. She is thus very finely attuned to the nuances of images, and the stories images can tell. Sushmita’s soul-work is that of psychospiritual alchemy, carried out within a Jungian/Archetypal vessel. This Work is deeply influenced by the teachings of Carl Jung, James Hillman, and Joseph Campbell. Sushmita sees images that arise from the depths of our souls (in the form of dreams, fantasies, impulses and ideas), as carriers of potent symbols that can transcend apparent dualities. Images, for her, are living psychic entities which have the power to reweave the torn fabric of our souls, thus bringing about a profound wholeness. Sushmita loves to write, to visualize, to teach and to create art that lives at the interface of Science and Soul.

Dr Phillipa Leonard is a retired medical doctor who now devotes herself to matters of spirit and heart. Over the last 20 years she has taught resilience to medical staff, people with life-threatening illness and youth in Uganda and South Africa. She has had the great privilege of being trained by MinMia, a senior Wirradjirri law woman, in the wisdom of the Australian Indigenous people. As a singer and poet, Phillipa is passionate about the use of creativity, ceremony and ritual as tools for psychological and emotional health.

Saibhung K Khalsa is a wife, mother and friend as well as a doctor of chiropractic and meditative healer.

Stacy Greene is a former cellist, current lactation consultant and creative spirit at heart. She is a seeker, often drawn to the center where light meets dark. She practices both Iyengar and Kundalini yoga, and considers herself an introverted extrovert. Stacy lives with her husband, son, and puppy in Brooklyn. She is connected in spirit to her daughter Greta.
