Joy as Sacred Service
Facilitated by Rev. Emilie Unterweger
At this critical time in humanity’s evolution, the Archbishop Desmond Tutu and His Holiness the Dalai Lama have offered us “The Book of Joy: Lasting Happiness in a Changing World” calling upon each of us to embrace and share the way of living in joy.
Whether joy is a part of your daily practice or you are struggling to be in joy, bring your queries, experiences, and resources for an evening of exchange and exploration. How is joy essential to our development as individuals and as a species? What role does joy play in social movements today and in the past? How can joy bolster us in the struggles we face personally, those of our communities and throughout the world?
Through exercises, reflection, and discussion together, we will consider the importance of living in and sharing joy with others. Bring something to write with and help you reflect – be it pen and paper, crayons, or colored pencils!
