Humans are storytellers. We’ve always been that way. We drew our stories into stone. We learned how to write and record our stories. We passed them down for generations because they matter. Stories shape every aspect of our lives, and many of them go unexamined.

The answer to unity, compassion, and equality is listening to other’s stories, and being able to see how our own stories are at play.

Understanding our personal stories and myths helps us to decode our lives and how we see ourselves in the world and in relationship with each other and our planet.

Who this workshop is for

If you want to explore your inner life and understand why you react the way you do, or why you are drawn to certain stories or themes, this workshop will help you learn how to identify connections and themes in your personal myths.

Learn how using characters, mythology, and stories helps you to better understand yourself and the world, and discover how you can trace your path and growth by exploring the stories, characters, and archetypal energy that have resonated with you at different times.

What you’ll explore

  • How mythology and popular culture impact and shape our individual life stories.

  • Practices for identifying and reflecting on mythic themes, character archetypes, and stories.

  • Writing, small group, and discussion-based time together.

What you’ll experience

Register for this one-day workshop to learn why everything is myth and develop the ability to identify which stories are important and articulate why certain stories resonate with you.

Through this exploration, you’ll learn how to identify mythic themes in everyday life and personal stories and narratives. There will be time for individual reflection in both writing and drawing, followed by group discussion.

Following this workshop, you’ll understand how to engage with and work with recurring images, characters, stories and myths to promote self understanding and growth.
