Sacred Service:
What do I Want My Legacy to Be?

Facilitated by Rev. Dr. Khadijah Matin

”To know the sacred essence of our being is to know also our calling to serve this sacredness in one another and in the relationships of our lives and the world …”

- John Philip Newell, Sacred Earth, Sacred Soul

Sacred service is a term many of us have often heard of, and yet it can mean so many different things to different people depending on where we are in our lives and our worldviews. Is sacred service about being in ministry? Is it the daily work that you do? Is it related to our worship of Spirit? Or is it a part of our spiritual practices, daily activities, rituals, and how we experience our faith, values, and beliefs?

Join us for an interactive and reflective exploration of what it means to be in sacred service, how we want to show up in the world, and what is the legacy that we want to leave behind?

Facilitator

Rev. Dr. Khadijah Matin

Rev. Dr. Khadijah Matin has established a solid record of commitment to education and faith-based organizations, serving in multiple leadership roles. Building upon her interests in her family history and social justice work, Khadijah’s work looks at the role family and faith history play as identity and transformation models. Along with her experience in nonprofit governance, and in recognition of her works in intercultural dialogue and civic engagement she was appointed as an Ariane de Rothschild Fellow. Khadijah has an MS from Fordham University; certificates from One Spirit Seminary (2006); ISC Program (2010). She earned her D.Min. In 2012, from New York Theological Seminary, in Multi-faith ministry. Always inspired by her children, Khadijah is called by some as a “woman who walks through walls” and calling as a continuation of her family’s traditions, fulfilling the social justice dreams of her ancestors.
