We have been given the gift of life in this perplexing world to become who we ultimately are – creatures of boundless love, caring, compassion, and wisdom.
— Wayne Teasdale, The Mystic Heart

In 1999, Wayne Teasdale introduced the term “interspirituality” to the world in his book, “The Mystic Heart.” In that book he described nine elements that can be easily recognized in mystics and contemplative practitioners across a broad range of religious and spiritual traditions. This workshop will explore these nine elements with a focus on how we can develop and express them in our own lives as we grow in spiritual fullness and service to the world. This workshop offers a practical framework for living a mature Interspiritual life, growing into the fullness of our true nature, and supporting others in their spiritual development and deepening.

Who this workshop is for

This workshop is for those committed to cultivating true Interspiritual maturity and supporting others to do the same. Participants will come away with a practical framework for reflecting on their own spiritual development and deepening and companioning others on their journeys of development.

What you’ll explore

  • 9 Elements of a Mature Interspirituality, as outlined by Wayne Teasdale in “The Mystic Heart”

  • The 3 dimensions of a well-rounded spirituality

What you’ll experience

Register for this four-part workshop series to experience contemplative practices (the “technology” of inner transformation), and poetry, music, and imagery to evoke an experience of the 9 elements.

Together, we’ll practice personal reflection, journaling, small group sharing, and sharing in the full group. Each session, you will receive handouts, inspirational materials, and resources for music and poetry shared.

Following this workshop, you’ll have an understanding of mature interspirituality and a way to reflect on your own spiritual development, recognizing areas of strength you can build on and deepen, and areas you would like to develop and integrate into your life more fully.
