In this workshop…

We will redefine the meaning of mystic. This 3-part workshop will provide an opportunity to explore three ways in which the concept of mystics can move beyond traditional concepts by diving deeply into the literary works of thought leaders.

Rarely do we consider these three: Howard Thurman, Octavia Butler, and Katie Cannon as global mystics, but through a deep exploration of their work, we can see mysticism in the modern day. At the same time, crossing genres – theology, philosophy, and science fiction- will serve as foundations for interspiritual exploration within a social justice context.

This workshop is for…

Anyone eager to explore their spiritual development as well as those by interested in how literary concepts also provide ways to consider social justice and commentary across diverse lenses.

Attendees can look forward to leaving this workshop with a wealth of literary resources that serve as a powerful foundation for interspirituality, ministry, and social justice work
