Special Interspiritual Learning Series
December 2026 – May 2027 · Live Online via Zoom
Ancient Wisdom. New Ways Forward.
Across cultures and generations, people have turned to sacred texts for guidance, inspiration, and a deeper understanding of what it means to be human.
These writings have accompanied communities through periods of extraordinary change. They have inspired compassion, challenged injustice, encouraged spiritual growth, and offered new ways to understand our relationships with ourselves, one another, and the world.
What might they offer us today?
One Spirit Learning Alliance's Sacred Texts Series: Navigating Crisis brings together six spiritual teachers for an exploration of wisdom drawn from different religious and philosophical traditions.
From the transformative teachings of A Course in Miracles to the enduring stories of the Hebrew Scriptures, each workshop offers a distinctive perspective on the questions we encounter as individuals and communities.
Together, they open space for reflection, connection, and the possibility of living with greater awareness, purpose, and hope.
You don't need to follow any particular tradition to participate. You only need a willingness to engage with its wisdom.
Six Sacred Texts. Infinite Wisdom.
Each workshop stands on its own, allowing you to follow the traditions and questions that speak most deeply to you. Choose to experience one gathering or join us for all six.
1. A Course in Miracles
What Becomes Possible When We See Differently?
A Course in Miracles offers a spiritual approach to transforming how we perceive ourselves, our relationships, and the world.
Through its teachings on forgiveness, love, and inner peace, consider how changing our perception can open new possibilities for healing and connection.
This workshop offers an opportunity to engage with the text's central teachings and reflect on how they might influence the way we meet life's challenges.
2. The Bible
Finding Courage and Possibility in Ancient Stories
Many biblical texts emerged from communities experiencing profound disruption. Yet within these writings are powerful expressions of imagination, perseverance, and hope.Through four biblical texts and their historical contexts, consider how ancient communities understood their circumstances, encountered the Divine, and imagined ways forward.
Reflection, writing, walking, and personal mapping will help connect these stories with the questions and transitions of our own lives.
3. The Dhammapada
Buddhist Wisdom for Awakening and Transformation
Drawing on the Dhammapada alongside two writings from the Nichiren Buddhist tradition, A Ship to Cross the Sea of Suffering and Hell Is the Land of Tranquil Light, this workshop considers how spiritual practice, faith, and community can help us navigate difficult experiences.
Explore the possibility that even life's most challenging moments can become part of a path toward deeper awareness and compassion.
4. The I Ching
Can we use Divination as a Sacred Practice of Rebalance?
The ancient Chinese I Ching, or Book of Changes, offers a way to recognize life's evolving patterns and understand our place within them.
Across four weekly gatherings, learn to consult the I Ching as a practice of discernment, self-knowledge, and realignment.
Drawing on Taoist and Confucian thought, this participatory workshop explores how personal growth, ethical action, and collective well-being are deeply connected.
5. The Qur'an
Faith, Compassion, and the Possibility of Renewal
For centuries, the Qur'an has offered spiritual guidance on human responsibility, compassion, justice, and our relationship with the Divine.
Join Rev. Dr. Khadijah Matin for an encounter with this sacred text and an opportunity to consider how its wisdom speaks to the enduring questions of human life.
Open to those encountering the Qur'an for the first time as well as those seeking to deepen their understanding.
6. Hebrew Scriptures
Ancient Stories of Loss, Courage, and New Beginnings
The Hebrew Scriptures offer moving accounts of people navigating profound transitions and discovering new possibilities for meaning and purpose.
Through the stories of Abraham, Jacob, Moses, and Ruth, Rabbi Dr. Simcha Raphael explores the spiritual dimensions of grief, displacement, mortality, resilience, and renewal. Discover how these ancient journeys can offer wisdom and inspiration for our lives today.
