About One Spirit
One Spirit Learning Alliance was founded in 2001 by Rev. Diane Berke and Rev. Joyce Lichtenstein as an interfaith and interspiritual learning community.
For over two decades, we’ve been a home for spiritual seekers, leaders, and visionaries called to embody love, foster healing, and awaken consciousness.
Today, more than 1,500 graduates have emerged from our programs as interfaith ministers, spiritual companions, counselors, and change-makers—bringing presence, purpose, and compassion to a world in need.
Our programs and offerings keep evolving to meet the world’s growing complexity and changing needs. We remain rooted in interspiritual wisdom and committed to reverence for all life, where transformation, spiritual depth, and sacred service meet.
One Spirit is more than an educational organization. It’s a co-creative community shaping a world where connection, inclusivity, and the sacred are central to how we live, lead, and serve.
Our Mission
Our mission is to offer experiential interfaith and interspiritual education and professional training to support personal transformation and prepare spiritual leaders.
Our Vision
Our vision is to inspire and advance the evolution of sacred consciousness in service to individuals, communities, and the earth.

One Spirit’s Values
Authentic Community
Built on honesty, trust, support, unconditional love, and collaboration, we create a spiritual home where deep listening, safety, nurturance, and connection are celebrated.
Integrity
We build trust through transparency, professional ethics, the setting of healthy boundaries, and living honest and authentic lives.
Consciousness of the Sacred
We strive to remain awake to the sacred in all things through commitment to spiritual practice, conscious presence, and deep compassion for self and others.
Lifelong Learning
Recognizing the lifelong process of spiritual maturation and transformation, we dedicate ourselves to cultivating humility, a beginner’s mind, and openness to all of life as our teacher.
Inclusivity
With respect and open-mindedness from an interspiritual perspective, we honor individuality, diversity, the wholeness of the human experience, and the universal expressed through all authentic wisdom paths and traditions.
Sacred Service
Understanding that sacred service is compassion in action, we commit to service rooted in Being, and act in the world with courage and openness to grace.
One Spirit’s Founder, Rev. Diane Berke
“In 2001, in the aftermath of September 11th, I felt an urgency to take the work I had been doing to a deeper level. In August 2002, One Spirit Learning Alliance was born. We embrace and teach the deep truths found at the heart of all the world’s spiritual paths and traditions, draw upon the wealth of spiritual and contemplative practices that help us evolve and grow, and commit to cultivating and living the values shared by all traditions: of peace, compassion, wisdom, service, interconnectedness, social justice, and love.”
Antiracism, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion
One Spirit Learning Alliance is compelled by its mission, vision and values to disrupt and dismantle all that intentionally kills another being, physically or spiritually. Therefore, we are strongly committed to ending racism. And we make serious efforts to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in all our work and relationships. Land Acknowledgement
One Spirit is based in Lenapehoking, the ancestral home of the Lenape People, and our staff, students, and graduates live and work on the lands of many indigenous tribes and nations throughout the world. Due to the ravages of colonialism, genocide, and forced relocation, the Lenape People are currently dispersed throughout the United States and Canada. Today, the United States recognizes 574 indigenous tribes and nations within its borders, all survivors of colonial oppression and displacement, all enduringly connected to their ancestral lands.
